What WildRoot is
WildRoot is an indie game developed by Rahul Das and released in 2026. It is available on PC (Microsoft Windows) only. It runs on Unity.
The premise, in the publisher's words
A cozy colony sim where survival is gentle—but life is alive. Build, farm, cook, craft and grow your settlement as colonists form relationships, help each other, and shape small, meaningful stories together.
How it plays
It is played from a bird view / isometric perspective. Its themes are sandbox. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for 2-core 2.4 GHz or better, 4 GB RAM and GeForce GTX 950, Radeon R9 380 or similar. At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 1GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
WildRoot launched on 9 October 2026, within three weeks of Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Townfall, Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve.
Released around the same time: Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Townfall, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve.
