What Tyr is
Tyr is an indie game developed by Stoke Games and released in 2026. It is available on PC (Microsoft Windows) only.
The premise, in the publisher's words
Tyr is a tank shooter where strategy beats twitch reflexes. Pilot heavy-armored vehicles with unique capabilities and upgrade them as you battle for victory with your team.
How it plays
It is played from a third person perspective. Its themes are action and warfare. It supports multiplayer for up to 16 players online.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel® Core™ i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X, 8 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1070 or Radeon™ RX 580. An 8GB memory requirement is modest by current standards; most machines sold in the last five years clear it. Install size is roughly 4GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Tyr launched on 2 September 2026, within three weeks of Marvel's Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
Released around the same time: Marvel's Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
