S&box is an open source video game development engine and platform by Facepunch Studios built on the Source 2 engine. S&box was released on April 28, 2026, and is intended to be a spiritual successor to Garry's Mod, allowing users to create a variety of games and experiences.
How it plays
It is played from a auditory perspective. Its themes are action and sandbox. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component. Available modes: Co-operative, Multiplayer, Single player and Split screen.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Core i5-9600K / Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM and GTX 1060 / RX 580 - 6GB VRAM. A 16GB memory requirement is demanding — worth checking before you buy, because 8GB is still common in older and budget machines. Install size is roughly 12GB.
