The premise, in the publisher's words
BeamNG.drive is a sandbox vehicle simulation game built around soft-body physics that simulate realistic vehicle handling, deformation, and damage in real time. The game originated as a spiritual successor to the open-source project Rigs of Rods and was initially released as a tech demo in 2013 before moving to Steam Early Access in 2015. Players can engage in campaigns, time trials, and free roam across various open-world maps, experimenting with vehicle collisions, environmental physics, and user-created mods. The game supports VR, features an integration with the car-building game Automation, and has native modding support with a community repository.

What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for AMD Ryzen 5 1600 / Intel Core i5 8400, 16 GB RAM and Minimum 6GB VRAM (AMD Radeon RX 570 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060). A 16GB memory requirement is demanding — worth checking before you buy, because 8GB is still common in older and budget machines. Install size is roughly 60GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
