The premise, in the publisher's words
You control a robot that is constantly moving forward. Your goal is to pump the balloons that are coming towards you by shooting them. If you shoot a balloon 4 times, it will pop. Press a button to shoot and hold a button to go faster. The balloons will remain behind you once they pass you and deflate again. The enemy will push all deflated balloons to the left border. You score points for every balloon that hits the border. To score more points, chain up the balloons.

Pump Press launched on 20 November 2023, within three weeks of The Finals, The Talos Principle II, Against the Storm and The Exit 8. It arrived 3 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
