What Permaban is
Permaban is an indie game developed by UnrealByte and released in 2026. It is available on Linux, Mac and PC (Microsoft Windows).
The premise, in the publisher's words
It's 2007. You're a forum mod with dial-up, a rulebook that contradicts itself, and a community spiraling into chaos. Ban trolls, cite rules, survive burnout. Papers Please meets early internet culture.
How it plays
It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Dual core 2.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM and Integrated GPU with hardware acceleration (Intel HD 4000 or better). At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 1GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Permaban launched on 8 September 2026, within three weeks of Marvel's Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Control Resonant and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
Released around the same time: Marvel's Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Control Resonant, Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
