The premise, in the publisher's words
Long ago, the world was a calm and peaceful place. Intelligent technologies and neurobiology arose with a Promethean promise of innovation and full human liberty. What was finally left behind, was an inhospitable dangerous universe, in which only scavengers, bloodthirsty creatures and men of mayhem live.
