The premise, in the publisher's words
The Sierra Research Facility in Alaska was once a beacon of cutting-edge research and development, but the dinosaurs in the base escaped, and the base has been cut off from the mainland. Much of the base has been flooded with seawater. Jack Allen is part of an expedition sent out to investigate the Sierra disaster. But when their boat gets attacked by a Megalodon, the crew becomes shipwrecked on the shores of Sierra and must find a way to escape.
How it plays
It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action and horror. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.

Fossilfuel 2 launched on 19 February 2024, within three weeks of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Balatro, Helldivers 2 and Persona 3 Reload. It arrived 4 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
