What Devour is
Devour is an indie game developed by Joe Fender and released in 2021. It was published by Straight Back Games. It is available on Mac and PC (Microsoft Windows). It runs on Unity.
The premise, in the publisher's words
Anna Puerta, leader of demonic cult The Watchers of Azazel, has just performed a forbidden ritual, believing she can summon and control the goat demon himself. But something has gone wrong, and Azazel has possessed her.
How it plays
It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action, horror, stealth and survival. It supports multiplayer for up to 4 players online. Available modes: Co-operative, Multiplayer and Single player. There are 131 achievements to unlock.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel i5 or new-gen i3 / AMD equivalent, 8 GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD Radeon R9 290. An 8GB memory requirement is modest by current standards; most machines sold in the last five years clear it. Install size is roughly 10GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Devour launched on 28 January 2021, within three weeks of Little Nightmares II, Hitman 3, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and The Medium.
Released around the same time: Little Nightmares II, Hitman 3, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, The Medium.
