What Breathedge 2 is
Breathedge 2 is a role-playing (rpg) game developed by RedRuins Softworks and released in 2026. It was published by HypeTrain Digital. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Microsoft Windows). It runs on Unreal Engine 5.
The premise, in the publisher's words
This is a list of games for the PlayStation 5. Physical games are sold on Ultra HD Blu-ray and digital games can be purchased through the PlayStation Store. The PlayStation 5 is backwards compatible with all but six PlayStation 4 games. This list only includes games that are released natively for PlayStation 5. PlayStation VR2 and backwards compatible games are excluded.
How it plays
It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action and survival. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.
Where it sits in the Breathedge series
Breathedge 2 is the second of 2 entries we hold in the Breathedge series. It arrived 8 years after Breathedge. It is the most recent released entry in the series.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 12 GB RAM and NVidia GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / AMD RX 5500 XT 6GB. A 12GB memory requirement is demanding — worth checking before you buy, because 8GB is still common in older and budget machines. Install size is roughly 15GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it costs, and where
The cheapest verified price right now is $14.86 at Steam, 61% below its usual price.
What it launched against
Breathedge 2 launched on 31 August 2026, within three weeks of Marvel's Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. It arrived 6 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
Released around the same time: Marvel's Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
