Why we label everything. The 2022 leak is still the origin of most "GTA 6 details" circulating today — map size figures, mission counts, character names. It showed pre-alpha builds Rockstar explicitly said were not representative. Treating that as fact is how a page ends up confidently wrong, so we mark it as a rumour every time it appears.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

What was the 2022 GTA 6 leak?
Roughly 90 videos of early development builds were published in September 2022 following a network intrusion. Rockstar confirmed it and said the material did not represent the finished game. Much of it was pre-alpha with placeholder assets.
Is the leaked GTA 6 footage accurate to the final game?
No. It showed pre-alpha builds with placeholder art, debug tools and unfinished systems. Details like map size, mission structure and character names drawn from it are unreliable, which is why we label anything sourced to it as a rumour.
Are there new GTA 6 leaks?
Claims appear constantly, and almost none survive scrutiny. We add something to this timeline only when it is traceable to a named source or corroborated by a credible outlet.
Why do so many GTA 6 sites publish rumours as fact?
Because the search volume is enormous and a confident headline outperforms a careful one in the short term. It ages badly. Every claim on this site is labelled confirmed, reported or rumour, and we would rather be right later than first and wrong.
