The premise, in the publisher's words
WRITHE transports you to an alternate ‘70s Thailand, where an endless horde of mutant sago worms terrorize the good people of Bangkok. Suit up and lock ‘n’ load- it’s your duty as an exterminator to hold back this wriggling tide to the last breath.

It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.

Writhe launched on 14 January 2021, within three weeks of Hitman 3, Omori, The Medium and Skul: The Hero Slayer. It arrived 4 years into the Nintendo Switch's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
