The premise, in the publisher's words
In a particularly twisted kind of background story, the ruling elites of the future (2999) rediscover the war games of the distant past (Ancient Rome) as a model for sports-like wars set in the not-so-distant past (2000), which to us is now.
How it plays
It is played from a bird view / isometric perspective. Its themes are action, science fiction and warfare. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.

WarTorn launched on 27 October 2000, within three weeks of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition, Counter-Strike and Escape from Monkey Island.
