Warframe: The War Within is a hack and slash/beat 'em up game developed by Digital Extremes and released in 2016. It is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (Microsoft Windows). It runs on Evolution.

The Grineer Empire grows stronger as a cryptic adversary surfaces. What secrets does the Grineer Empire keep? Underpowered, unprepared and forced out of your comfort, you must find it in yourself to improvise, not just to save yourself but the fate of all Tenno. The Queens' Fortress awaits, where both Warframe and Operator will be pushed past their limits as they slowly unravel mysteries about the Tenno's past and their true capabilities.

How it plays

It is played from a third person perspective. Its themes are action and science fiction. It supports multiplayer for up to 4 players online, and includes co-op. Available modes: Co-operative, Multiplayer and Single player.

Warframe: The War Within launched on 12 November 2016, within three weeks of Dishonored 2, Final Fantasy XV, Titanfall 2 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. It arrived 3 years into the PlayStation 4's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
