It started development in 1999 as an entry to a contest from Infogrames Portugal with the title of Fusion, placing it at 7th place. It eventually was renamed Doshowbikum: The Run when Move Interactive was formed and renamed again when the game was further in development to simply as Ugo Volt, being showcased at E3 2006. In 2007, the game was put on hold due to financial difficulties after its fundraisers pulled out of the project, and by 2008, the company was out of business.
