What Toxic Crusaders is
Toxic Crusaders is an unreleased adventure game in development at Retroware, currently scheduled for 31 December 2026. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (Microsoft Windows).
The premise, in the publisher's words
Toxic Crusaders refers to three separate side-scrolling video games released in 1992 which are all based on the American cartoon series Toxic Crusaders (1991) and Troma Entertainment's 1984 film The Toxic Avenger. The Nintendo Entertainment System version was developed by Tose, the Game Boy version by Realtime Associates, and the Genesis/Mega Drive version by Infogrames. A Super NES version was planned by Bandai, but it was not released.
How it plays
It is played from a side view perspective. Its themes are action. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component. Available modes: Co-operative, Multiplayer, Single player and Split screen.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for 4-Core CPU, 4 GB RAM and Discrete graphics. At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 4GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
