The premise, in the publisher's words
Lost along a dusty stretch of highway, the town of Thimbleweed Park once boasted an opulent hotel, a vibrant business district and the state’s largest pillow factory, but now it teeters on the edge of oblivion and continues to exist for no real reason. It’s a town that makes you itch and your skin crawl. It’s a place no one ever looks for, but everyone seems to find.
How it plays
It is played from a side view perspective. Its themes are comedy and mystery. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component. There are 33 achievements to unlock.
How it was received

Games released in 2017 averaged 71, so it scored 12 points above the year average. Player ratings track closely with critics at 81, across 144 votes.
How long it takes, and what that costs
The main story runs about 10.8 hrs. Completing everything takes closer to 17.8 hrs, roughly 1.6 times the length of the critical path.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM and Intel HD 3000 or better. At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 1GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Thimbleweed Park launched on 30 March 2017, within three weeks of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition and Zero Escape: The Nonary Games. It reviewed better than 2 of the 4. It arrived 4 years into the PlayStation 4's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
Released around the same time: Mass Effect: Andromeda, Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, Zero Escape: The Nonary Games.
