Its themes are educational. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.

Spellworm launched on 20 September 2019, within three weeks of Borderlands 3, GreedFall, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (2019) and Gears 5. It arrived 2 years into the Nintendo Switch's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
