The premise, in the publisher's words
An asteroid strike has wiped out most of the earth's population, leaving humanity's survivors scattered across a lawless wasteland. Ruthless gangs roam the open roads while the tyrannical Authority seeks to rule the ruins with an iron fist. Walker is the last Ranger of the wasteland, and as a threat to the Authority's power, has been robbed of home and left for dead. Driven by a need for justice and freedom, Walker sets out across the unforgiving badlands, battling the gangs that control it in search of the means to break the Authority's oppressive grip once and for all.
