The story takes place in the near future. Your objective is to make "first contact" with an alien life form. Any violation of the Protocol will lead to the elimination of you and the entire operation. Remember, the fate of the humanity may depend on your actions. Once signed, the Protocol must be promptly implemented.
How it plays
It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action, comedy, horror and mystery. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.
What it launched against
Protocol launched on 1 February 2018, within three weeks of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Monster Hunter: World, Celeste and Shadow of the Colossus. It arrived 5 years into the PlayStation 4's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
