They say there was a fisherman, burdened by memories too heavy to carry, who sailed into waters where no man had ever dared to go. Some would tell you he sought redemption, others would say it was peace he was after. But the sea gives neither.

It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are horror. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.

Mourning Tide launched on 15 October 2024, within three weeks of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Silent Hill 2, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. It arrived 4 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
