Miasma Chronicles is an adventure game developed by The Bearded Ladies and released in 2023. It was published by 505 Games. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Microsoft Windows).

The premise, in the publisher's words

In the not-too-distant future. America has been torn apart by a savage force known only as the ‘Miasma’. Meet Elvis, a young man brought to the mining town of Sedentary as a baby. Left by his mother in the care of a robotic older brother and given a mysterious glove with which he can control the Miasma. Join the brothers on a quest across a post-apocalyptic wasteland to find the answers they crave. Answers which may change the course of human history forever.

How it plays

It is played from a third person perspective. Its themes are action and science fiction. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.

What it launched against

Miasma Chronicles launched on 23 May 2023, within three weeks of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo IV, System Shock and Street Fighter 6. It arrived 3 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
