What Groundwork is
Groundwork is an unreleased adventure game, currently scheduled for 1 December 2026. It is available on Linux and PC (Microsoft Windows). It runs on Godot.
The premise, in the publisher's words
The humans are coming. Someone has to get the place ready. Scan what grows here, gather and mine. Repair the robots from crashed ships, and they'll teach you new recipes and take over jobs. Build a new home for the humans, and a home for the robots you found. No combat, no timer, no fail screen.
How it plays
It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel Core i3-8100 / AMD Ryzen 3 2200G or equivalent, 4096 MB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 1050 / AMD RX 560 / Intel UHD 630 or better. At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
