The premise, in the publisher's words
Shrunk again, but the world is much larger. In this open-world, single-player or co-op survival adventure, craft weapons and armor, build your base, and traverse the playground on your buggy. But something else is out there—and it hasn’t forgotten you.
How it plays
It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action and survival. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component. Available modes: Co-operative, Multiplayer and Single player.
How it was received
Grounded 2 holds a critic score of 80 out of 100. That places it above 64% of the 7,525 rated adventure games in our database, which average 72. Games released in 2025 averaged 78, so it scored 2 points above the year average.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for AMD Ryzen 5 2600 / Intel i5-8400, 16 GB RAM and AMD RX 5700 / Nvidia GTX 1070 / Intel Arc A580. A 16GB memory requirement is demanding — worth checking before you buy, because 8GB is still common in older and budget machines. Install size is roughly 40GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Grounded 2 launched on 29 July 2025, within three weeks of Mafia: The Old Country, Donkey Kong Bananza, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Sword of the Sea. It reviewed better than 2 of the 4. It arrived 5 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
Released around the same time: Mafia: The Old Country, Donkey Kong Bananza, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Sword of the Sea.
