What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for X64 architecture with SSE2 instruction set support, 4 GB RAM and DX10-capable GPU. At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 18GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Escape Simulator launched on 19 October 2021, within three weeks of Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, Unpacking and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. It reviewed better than all of them. It arrived 1 year into the Xbox Series's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
Released around the same time: Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, Unpacking, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
