The premise, in the publisher's words
For reasons unknown, Praxis, caretaker of the Nexus, has descended into madness. Harnessing the power of the Great Flame, Praxis has sent legions of destructive armies to keystone worlds. Fearing the end of these worlds, attendants of the Nexus, in defiance of the Mad God, have used the remaining energy of the Flame to summon the Ember Knights, legendary guardians of the Nexus and the life she maintains. These Knights are tasked with saving these worlds, restoring the mythical power of the Flame and putting an end to the Mad God’s tyranny.
How it plays
It is played from a bird view / isometric perspective. Its themes are action. It supports multiplayer for up to 4 players online, and includes co-op. Local play supports 4 players. Available modes: Co-operative, Multiplayer and Single player. There are 135 achievements to unlock.

What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Dual Core 2.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM and Nvidia 450 GTS / Radeon HD 5750 or better. At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 1GB. Ember Knights launched on 18 July 2023, within three weeks of Baldur's Gate III, Baldur's Gate III, Dave the Diver and Viewfinder. All of them reviewed better. It arrived 3 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
