Deltarune is an adventure game developed by tobyfox and released in 2025. It was published by 8-4. It is available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Mac and PC (Microsoft Windows). It runs on GameMaker Studio 2.
The premise, in the publisher's words
Kris and their classmate Susie fall into an unknown place called the "Dark World" where they meet Ralsei, who informs them that they are prophesied, in the legend of Delta Rune, to be heroes that save the world. Deltarune's full game will consist of seven chapters, each where Kris, Susie, and Ralsei either fight or act their way through Dark Worlds. Kris, being the only one who can seal the "Dark Fountain", is the party leader. They can command the other party members in battles, though some commands would seem forced to others. The SOUL, a heart-shaped object, is controlled by the player and is in Kris's body, leaving Kris's actions mostly up to the player.
How it plays
It is played from a bird view / isometric perspective. Its themes are action, comedy, drama and mystery. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.

The main story runs about 23 hrs. Completing everything takes closer to 43 hrs, roughly 1.9 times the length of the critical path.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for 2 GB RAM and 128 MB. At 2GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 1GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.

Storefront pricing varies enormously by country: India is the cheapest region we track at ₹1,099.00 (about $11.54), while United Kingdom pays £20.99 — 2.4 times more. In Pakistan it is priced at Rs 12 on Steam, which is about $12.49.
What it launched against
Deltarune launched on 4 June 2025, within three weeks of Doom: The Dark Ages, Dune: Awakening, The Alters and Elden Ring Nightreign. It arrived 5 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
