What Coup de Koala is
Coup de Koala is an unreleased indie game in development at Victor Liu, currently scheduled for 31 December 2026. It is available on Linux, Mac and PC (Microsoft Windows). It runs on Unity.
The premise, in the publisher's words
Coup de Koala is a cute pixel art bullet hell roguelite focused on building synergies between spell cards and weapons to create devastating combos against enemies. Play as an exiled koala king sworn to expel the foreign usurpers of your country. Gameplay is focused around the traditional shoot and slash of bullet hell games like Enter the Gungeon and Risk of Rain, but with an additional layer of building unique card-weapon pairings that will be critical for progressing. Dying is expected. Upgrade your character after each run, rise from the rubble again, and fight till you finally free your people.
How it plays
It is played from a bird view / isometric perspective. Its themes are action. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for 2 GB RAM and 128 MB. At 2GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
