The premise, in the publisher's words
Content Warning is a 2024 co-op survival-horror video game published by Landfall. It was released for Windows on 1 April 2024, as a part of Landfall's tradition of releasing a game on April Fools' Day. On 1 April 2026, the game received ports to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
How it plays
It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action, comedy and horror. It supports multiplayer for up to 4 players online. Available modes: Co-operative and Single player. There are 48 achievements to unlock.
How long it takes, and what that costs
The main story runs about 21,614 hrs. Completing everything takes closer to 99,999.9 hrs, roughly 4.6 times the length of the critical path.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel Core i5 @ 2.5 GHz or equivalent, 8 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 ti or AMD R9 380. An 8GB memory requirement is modest by current standards; most machines sold in the last five years clear it. Install size is roughly 4GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Content Warning launched on 1 April 2024, within three weeks of Dragon's Dogma II, Minishoot' Adventures, Rise of the Ronin and Pepper Grinder. It arrived 4 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
Released around the same time: Dragon's Dogma II, Minishoot' Adventures, Rise of the Ronin, Pepper Grinder.
