What it launched against

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launched on 14 October 2014, within three weeks of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Alien: Isolation and Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition. All of them reviewed better. It arrived 1 year into the PlayStation 4's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.

Released around the same time: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Alien: Isolation, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition.
