The premise, in the publisher's words
The game follows a fictional storyline where you find yourself in the quarantine zone five years after the event. Everything has changed in that time, and you find yourself in a very different Britain, on the wrong side of the quarantine wall. The area is run by the military and beset with factions, in-fighting, and a growing sense of fear. It’s up you to unravel the mystery of what happened. Explore the countryside, villages, and settlements and meet odd people, wicked cults, rogue government agencies and others along the way.
How it plays
It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action, open world and survival. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component. There are 54 achievements to unlock.

What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel CPU Core i5-9400f or equivalent, 16 GB RAM and Nvidia 2060 6GB or equivalent. A 16GB memory requirement is demanding — worth checking before you buy, because 8GB is still common in older and budget machines. Install size is roughly 60GB.

Atomfall launched on 27 March 2025, within three weeks of Inzoi, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Split Fiction and Blue Prince. All of them reviewed better. It arrived 5 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
