The premise, in the publisher's words
The Arcadian royal family is in shambles: a dying king, an illegitimate daughter vying for a throne, and a country tearing itself apart. Every day more eastern troops cross the mountains and pillage local villages, and rumors of an uprising are whispered by desperate men. What a wonderful time to be a soldier. Enter Desmond and Vashti, two soldiers in the Royal Guard who take orders directly from the Queen. They met on the edge of war, fell in love in the face of adversity, and learned to laugh even when things seemed dire. But can love survive when two sides with very different motives threatens to pull it apart? Can anything survive at all?
How it plays
It is played from a bird view / isometric perspective. Its themes are action, drama, fantasy and historical. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component. There are 40 achievements to unlock.

What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz, AMD FX 8120 @ 3.1 GHz, 4 GB RAM and NVIDIA GT 630 / 650m, AMD Radeon HD6570 or equivalent. At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 6GB.

Arcadian Atlas launched on 27 July 2023, within three weeks of Baldur's Gate III, Baldur's Gate III, Overwatch and Viewfinder. All of them reviewed better. It arrived 3 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
