The premise, in the publisher's words
Ah! My Goddess takes place on an uninhabited, magical island, to which Keiichi, Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld are mysteriously invited. In reality, they were brought here by the Spirit of the Silver Watch, who rules over the island, with the help of Mara and Hild. The Spirit needs the goddesses' help with fixing a flaw in the center of the island, and she traps them and Keiichi inside a magic maze to drive them to the center of the island so that they can free themselves.
